An important work on the importance of a healthy breakfast, by the American cereal king, John Harvey Kellogg. An early proponent of the germ theory of disease, Kellogg was well ahead of his time in relating intestinal flora and the presence of bacteria in the intestines to health and disease, which is addressed extensively in this book. He was an early proponent of health reform and vegetarianism.
Pieces of jacket lacking from lower front panel and spine ends, long closed tear along jacket flap hinge, otherwise a fine copy in fair (but scarce) jacket.
